Evaluating Dental Drilling Procedures

In order to help the evaluation of the learning process of dental drilling procedures we have developed, in cooperation with the School of Dental Medicine of PUCRS, an image processing tool (hardware and software) for facilitating the students to visualize their class work.

The system captures teeth images from many angles and presents these images to the student, allowing him to see in details how was the performed drilling. Besides that, the system can measure the drilled teeth to provide more accurate feedback. Figure 17 shows the evaluation software.
